When your plant arrives

Unpack it straight away and place it in bright, indirect light. Let it settle for a few days before repotting or moving it to direct sun.

Light

Each product page lists the plant's sunlight requirement. Low light plants cope with rooms away from windows, bright indirect light means near a window without harsh afternoon sun, and full sun plants need at least 5–6 hours of direct sunlight outdoors.

Watering

Push a finger about 2–3 cm into the soil. Water thoroughly only when it feels dry, and let excess water drain away. Most plant problems come from overwatering, especially in winter and monsoon.

Feeding

Feed during the growing season (spring to early monsoon) with a balanced organic fertilizer or vermicompost every 3–4 weeks. Reduce feeding in winter.

Repotting

Move plants to a pot one size larger when roots grow out of the drainage hole. Always use a pot with drainage and a well-draining potting mix.
